Four core initiatives, delivered free of charge to our community.

This is the programme most participants meet us through. Over a series of evening sessions in a public community venue, small groups of young people work through the practical mechanics of civic life: how to define a problem in their own neighbourhood, how to plan a project against a realistic budget and timeline, how to speak clearly in front of an audience, and how to address a request to a local council, school or public authority.

Sessions are deliberately participatory. Rather than lectures, participants prepare short briefings, run mock consultations, chair their own meetings, and receive structured feedback from volunteer facilitators — many of whom passed through the same programme in earlier years.

Each cycle closes with a real deliverable: a proposal, a community action, or a public presentation that the group owns from start to finish. There is no attendance fee, no material cost, and no commercial element of any kind.

Malta is home to families and young people from many countries, and integration rarely fails for lack of goodwill — it fails for lack of ordinary shared occasions. This programme creates those occasions: orientation meetings for newly arrived residents, community arts afternoons, informal language circles, and small cultural evenings where food, music and storytelling are contributed by the participants themselves.

Our language circles pair a confident speaker with a learner for conversational practice rather than formal instruction. The aim is functional confidence: making a phone call, attending a school meeting, asking a question at a public office, or simply speaking with neighbours without hesitation.

Cultural events are curated with, not for, the communities represented. Every edition is free to attend and open to the general public, and volunteers from all backgrounds are welcome to help organize.

Our volunteer drives are the most visible part of our work and the easiest way to take part for the first time. Teams of young volunteers meet on scheduled weekends for coastal and countryside clean-ups, seasonal food and essentials collections coordinated with local charitable partners, and practical assistance for elderly or isolated residents — shopping runs, help with correspondence, or simply regular company.

Every drive is led by a volunteer coordinator, briefed in advance, and documented afterwards with a short activity record so that participants, partners and funders can see exactly what happened and what it achieved.

Safety and dignity come first. Activities involving vulnerable residents follow our safeguarding protocol, volunteers under 18 participate with guardian consent and adult supervision, and no participant is ever asked to contribute money in order to volunteer.

Digital exclusion quietly limits opportunity. Together with volunteer educators and local partners, we deliver short, practical seminars covering the essentials: using a computer and office documents with confidence, managing email and official online services, preparing a first CV and cover letter, and rehearsing a job or apprenticeship interview.

A dedicated part of every cycle is devoted to online safety and digital citizenship — recognising scams and misinformation, protecting personal data, understanding privacy settings, and responding to online harassment.

Sessions are open to underprivileged and out-of-school youth at no cost. Where devices are a barrier, we work with partner venues to make shared equipment available for the duration of the seminar.
